To successfully use the interaction tools provided with the EGS data access, you will need to download the latest version of Java. Version 1.4.2 requires administrator priviledges to install on Windows machines. If you are running netscape 4 or 6, there is an environment variable "NPX_PLUGIN_PA TH" that needs to be set to where the Java files are located. For example: /local/username/j2rel_3_1/plugin/sparc/ns4 for netscape 4 on solaris. The same is true for Linux.
