Contents of the TKRS Tables

The TKRS tables list the data resulting from the Team Keck Redshift Survey of the GOODS-North region imaged by HST/ACS. Two versions of the tables are provided, one ordered by serial number and one by Right Ascension. The contents of the two tables are identical and are described below.

Columns in the TKRS Tables

Column Name Data Type Units Description
1 id integer Object serial number in TKRS catalog
2 ra double hours Right Ascension (J2000)
3 dec double degrees Declination (J2000)
4 rmag real mag SExtractor "total" magnitude
5 mask integer TKRS slitmask number on which object appears
6 slit integer Slit number in whcih object appears on slitmask
7 z real TKRS redshift
8 zq integer TKRS redshift quality code, explained below
9 z_alt real Alternate redshift
10 z_ref integer Reference for alternate redshift, explained below
11 x real px X position on TKRS DEIMOS R-band mosaic image
12 y real px Y position on TKRS DEIMOS R-band mosaic image
13 field integer sector number in which object lies in HST/ACS imaging mosaic
14 x_acs real px X position on HST/ACS sector image
15 y_acs real px Y position on HST/ACS sector image
16 sma real arcsec Semi-major axis length in TKRS DEIMOS R-band mosaic image
17 e2 real Ellipticity in TKRS DEIMOS R-band mosaic image
18 pa r degrees Major axis position angle in DEIMOS R-band mosaic image (North=0, East=+90)
19 id2 string Object name in HST/ACS GOODS-North v1.0 catalog

TKRS Redshift Quality Codes (parameter zq)

Value Meaning
4 Very secure redshift, with at least a 99% probability of being correct. At least two spectral features were identified.
3 Secure redshift, with at least a 95% probability of being correct. Spectrum features one strong line and another weak but identifiable feature, or a single wide line, typically [O II] 3727 blend.
2 Uncertain redshift; signal is present but no unambiguous spectral line identified. This spectrum may yield a redshift in subsequent analysis.
1 No redshift; S/N too poor.
-1 Star.
-2 No redshift measured because of instrumental artifacts in spectrum
